Our Approach
We do therapy differently here.
Therapy that goes beyond talking about the problem.
Our work is collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in deep respect for your lived experience. We integrate body-based and evidence-informed approaches to help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface—not just manage symptoms, but heal patterns at the root.
We also understand that pain does not happen in a vacuum. Burnout, trauma, oppression, grief, and disconnection are not only personal issues, they are shaped by the systems and relationships we live inside of. Your healing deserves care that honors the full picture.
OUR SPECIALTIES
Trauma + Recovery
Healing from trauma is not about forgetting what happened—it's about finding safety, connection, and a renewed sense of self. Whether you're living with the effects of childhood trauma, complex trauma, or grief, therapy can help you process your experiences and move forward with greater resilience.
Anxiety + Mood
When anxiety, depression, stress, or burnout begin to shape your daily life, even simple tasks can feel overwhelming. Together, we'll help you understand what's beneath the surface, develop practical coping strategies, and create lasting emotional balance.
Neurodiversity
Your brain isn't broken—it simply works differently. Whether you're navigating ADHD, executive functioning challenges, or emotional regulation, therapy can help you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and develop strategies that fit the way you think.
Identity
Your identity shapes how you move through the world. We provide affirming, compassionate therapy for LGBTQIA+ individuals and anyone exploring questions of identity, belonging, relationships, or self-acceptance in a space where you can show up as your authentic self.
Life Transitions
Life doesn't always unfold as planned. Whether you're navigating a career change, relationship shift, parenthood, caregiving, or another significant transition, therapy offers a space to process change, build resilience, and move into your next chapter with confidence.
Women’s Health
Women's mental health is deeply connected to the many stages and experiences of life. From fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum to hormonal changes, caregiving, and the pressures of balancing multiple roles, we're here to support your emotional well-being with care tailored to your unique experience.
WORK WITH US
We are here to help you realize that you are not broken.
Talk Therapy
You talk. We listen and help you figure out where you feel stuck and why and how to move forward in a healthier way. At Psychsomatica, we’re not just about clearing the surface-level clutter—we’re here to help you break free on a soul-deep level.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy incorporates the mind, body, and spirit into therapeutic healing work. Somatic therapy aims to treat the effects of PTSD and other mental and emotional health issues through the connection of mind and body and uses a body-centric approach.
Our Approach
We do therapy differently here.
We're a team of Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPCs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) based in Chicago, Illinois and Colorado. We don't just help you talk about the problem. We help you heal it at the root using body-based, evidence-informed approaches, including Somatic EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness, and Polyvagal Nervous System work. Whether you're navigating ADHD and neurodivergence, complex PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, burnout, eating disorders, women’s health issues, or major life transitions, we meet you where you are and build a treatment plan as unique as you are.
